Is There a Reason to Have a Personal Vision and Goals in Life? Please write down your answer.
In a world filled with endless distractions and demands on our time, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day operations and forget what matters most.
Can you easily find a friend who has been successful in career and financial gains, but has not managed to find time for his family? This raises a fundamental question: Is there a compelling reason to have a personal vision and set specific goals for our lives?
The answer, in short, is a resounding yes. A personal vision and a clear set of goals have tremendous benefits.
Build on a Rock
A personal vision will help you determine how much you want to be involved, how mush can be delegated, and how you want to make your contributions towards a better world today.
Before we go far, you do not improve the world through defiance of the one who created it. Honor him and make your personal goals in honor of him, in order to make sure you are “building on a rock.”
Energize Your Genuine Passion
Once your personal vision and mission are clear, you will need to align them with the vision, mission and goals of your institution. When you complete this level, ideally it should energize your genuine passion.
Remember you are not alone. Help your teams align their personal goals and vision as well. Monitor progress. If one is still in a junior position, respect authority and commit to learning from them.
If you find obstacles or notice a lack of moral compass for your leader, know at once you need a mentor.
In our next topic, we’ll hopefully look at Mentorship.
